As usual, another strike occurs where the people demand the land that frankly doesn't belong to them according to the law.
The land was first in the hands of the government but now is occupied by the private hands. People need to understand that land is not free, and private land is private in terms of the person rights.
Private lands means lands not owned by federal, state, county, or local governments.
According to an article written by enca says Private security personnel have opened fire on land invaders at Rabie Ridge, Johannesburg.
They have been trying to erect shacks on privately owned land.
Chaos erupted on Sunday after community members tried to erect shacks on privately owned land. Owners deployed armed security, and later, police were called.
So the person who owns the land has the right to call law enforcement to get rid of people who invade this private property.
Yes we all have right, and its our responsibility to know what those rights are but at the same time we should not abuse them. Having rights doesn't mean we have this power or accessibility to certain things.
Having rights does not mean we get to over look other laws that come with those rights. Private lands are owned by someone, and that person has a right to report to enforcement if their rights are being violated.
People are so fast to report or claim that their rights are being violated but at the same time forget that in that process of reporting this said issue they are violating someone else's.
Housing MEC condemns land invasion, says Lebogang Maile, "there is a lot of vacant land in South Africa and people tend to build homes there forgetting that just because its vacant doesn't mean its available for everyone".
