It’s not a lie that males are held in higher regard than females in society, even in this day and age, the way society views gender and what it stands for still depicts the way we live especially in regards to culture. The views of culture should not have any effect on work and the way the cabinet is structured.
" Men should always make up the majority of the South African cabinet because of the cultures in our society that promote more dominance".
The values and morals of culture cannot predict or depict the way the South African cabinet should be structured, just because society has the image of men as strong and fierce bulls that the idea of fragile and delicate woman is the cabinet is absurd but yet this idea is challenged every day.
The cabinet cannot handle that much testosterone. The idea of men only making up the South African cabinet contradicts the provision of gender inequality, the reasons behind this is because men proceed dominance and women proceed weakness.
"The influence that traditional male stereotypes have on the perpetuation of gender inequality, at a transnational scale, also needs to be addressed", says Adyond Edwards in his article, It's a Man’s World; The Effect of Traditional Masculinity on Gender Equality.
South African strives due to its cultural differences but these cultural differences are often what divide us. Cultures are always clashing and competing to be better, cultures promote this idea of men being the sole leaders, being the protectors and breadwinners of the family that they make females feel degraded and non-important.
Cultures, some cultures state that the place of a female is to please the male and look after the children, they can't work, they can't do any heavy labour but to just cook, clean and look after the children as the male goes out to 'hunt'.

But we are not living in the olden ages where women were taught how to stand or to behave to catch a male or their families fortune would be lost forever. Times are changing and so should the idea of gender prejudice.
It’s time that people realize that masculinity and femininity are not concepts that can be considered anymore. Times have moved forward in the sense that women can now be independent, strong, fierce, assertive but at the same time caring and loving. Times have moved forward now that---yes, it's still frowned upon that males should be seen crying-- the image of men crying is not seen as a weakness but that humanity is encouraged.
There has to be a balance in society, and that olden day balance of men working and women staying at home has been broken. There is a new scale where women can be both masculine and feminine and males vice versa.
"A complete human being is in equilibrium between masculine and the feminine", Sadhguru wrote on Twitter in 2015.
Men and women should always make up the majority of the South African Cabinet regardless of the cultures in our society that promote male dominance.
